Central and Eastern European Folk Clothing
So, my exploration of my Romanian Heritage and exploring Czech and Western Slavic cultures has led me to appreciate the embroidery and folk clothing of Central and Eastern Europe. I really think the designs and the work is some of the most beautiful stuff I've ever seen. It makes me sad that these clothes are becoming less common in public and such and that boring ass Western professionalism is kinda eating everything up. I'm gonna post pictures grouped by region below and gush about them.
This map shows what countries I'll be exploring and how I'll group the clothes in different regions. I am not making any political statements. I read the wikipedia article on each country and labeled it by its primary ethnic group. Each of these countries has ethnic minorities and lots of minorities exist throughout Europe, for example, the Sorbians in Germany. Also, the Romani, despite being enslaved in the region since the 1300s and living in Europe to the modern day, don't have representation on this map but I want to show their clothes off as well.
TL;DR: I'm a stupid American and I am just talking about clothes.
