Peasant Uprising

Check out this Picrew I made of Princess Aralise in her peasant garb! Red was a common dye choice in medieval Europe because beets were grown everywhere. If you look at a lot of folk embroidery, you'll see red is a common color. Her world is my safe place. It really feels like we're moving towards a neofeudalist, neomedieval world sometimes and understanding things through the lense of Iridia helps me stay calm? Its also just like, my hyperfocus and I want to be there.

My girlfriend asked me why I have a spin on the medieval era this morning. I think part of it is growing up with The Legend of Zelda and Link being one of the only male characters I could relate to. Part of it is reading a lot of fantasy books as a kid and that being my safe place in a world I couldn't understand. I still have a lot of questions for myself on why this is one of my spins, though.

Lastly, I've got my presurgery checklist and been going through everything over and over. I'm doing my best to make sure that my car, the household, and all the stuff I can arrange now is as taken care of and low-stress as it can be. The last thing I want is my girlfriend having to deal with a crisis while I'm stuck in bed on pain medication. I'm also just sort of over it? GF and I looked at each other yesterday and both said we wanted to just fast forward to the surgery already being done. A part of me is still anxious something will ruin the surgery but I'm just trying to take it one day at a time.
