ADHD Burnout

A calico cat sitting on a pile of blankets, flopped on her side and relaxed.

Hello, I'm really burned out right now. ADHD makes it really hard for me to tell how long things will take and when I have too many responsibilities, so I end up with too much on my plate and then all the plates that I'm spinning end up crashing to the ground. I love my friends. I love helping people. I love reading and writing. I love so much, but there are not enough hours in the day to do everything.

ADHD is a disability to me. It keeps me from accomplishing the things I want to do and makes it harder to plan and prioritize in general. I am a silly little cow-skunk-thing and I am truly uncertain how I got this far in life. I shouldn't have a masters, a relationship, and financial stability with how messed up my brain is. I got here by masking and burning all my energy, but in some ways ADHD is like always being a kid and I'm tired and cranky now.

I'm glad my plans fell through. I'm gonna soak in a hot tub tonight. I'm reading a book of folk tales and I'm gonna read myself to sleep with it. I'm also gonna have some pawpaw Ale-8-One today with some frozen pizza. Tomorrow, I'm cuddling with a friend. I need to be soft and loving and gentle with myself, which is not how I was raised at all.

Toxic masculinity makes self-care so hard and I'm glad I don't have to pretend to be a boy anymore.

This is my cat, Sugar! When I met her, she hissed and attacked me every single time I touched her. Now, she is a mommy's girl who lives in me and my partner's laps.

Hello, I'm burned out

Hello, I'm burned out and writing on my tablet without being able to see the words right now. I hope this is working.
