July Sucks

a lily flower

So, my gf and I caught lice twice. I was joking with people that it was getting to experience something from girlhood I missed, but it was horrible. The only thing that is miserable and itchy as lice is poison ivy. I've also had two colds and a migraine this month. I'm pretty cooked at this point.

I've been writing again. I'm back on Aralise. I talked to some other writers and they suggested I need to talk to my therapist about what it really represents to me. The whole thing is caught up in trauma reenactment and wish fufillment for me. Aralise is betrayed by the only stable adult in her life and literally has to grovel to protect the people she loves while her abuser tells her that everything is her fault. Still, she hangs on because the woman that risked everything to protect her is in danger. I'm tearing up just thinking about this. The story is so emotionally important to me at this point that its paralyzing to write.

I also saw Obsession. I 100% recommend it if you can stomach it, but it's very about abusive relationships and there is harm to animals on screen. I saw it with this really cute girl that I like and I'm hoping she'll date me and join the polycule. She's really smart and has taken calculus 3, but she grew up in a very restrictive household so she never got to see a ton of movies. I'm going to catch her up and teach her to analyze cinema.

Anyways, enjoy this lily outside my work! I love the paradoxical symbolism of lilies as purity but also yuri.
