The other two members of the polycule are coming up and I'm super hyped but already somewhat exhausted. I had to make sure my car, all the food, and the scheduled events were all on track. I've even had to keep an eye on the weather. I just want things to execute properly so everyone has a good time. I've been working on and off on this trip for six months and its finally here! In the meantime, we have all become Balatro fiends and call the pasttime of playing this poker roguelike 'jonkling'.
I watched Another with the polycule and damn its a good show. It is a aware of the tropes of the genre and works to with the viewer's expectations of those tropes to subvert them. I genuinely didn't know the main twist until the very end of the show. I liked the sparse sound design and the use of muted colors as well. The palette reminded me of a somewhat more vibrant and gothic version of the Junji Ito Collection anime.
I'm watching Revolutionary Girl Utena in my alone time right now (when I'm not dead and watching sea monkey content post hard workout). That show is extremely surreal and is an influence on Kill La Kill, but I'm having a very hard time piecing together what is happening right now. I feel like I need to go back and watch it over again to piece it all together, but I've been told not to expect a resolution that clearly explains what is happening.
